Date: 13 May 2025
Location: Mitchelstown Library

As part of the Libraries for Literacy initiative, Mitchelstown Library came alive on May 13th with the energy and imagination of fifty students from Coláiste Fionnchua. Students from 1st Year, 2nd Year, and TY, took part in a creative writing workshop facilitated by Ann Marie and Pierina from Fighting Words Cork and Graffiti Theatre.

Throughout the sessions, students explored the art of storytelling, developed their writing skills, and shared their own stories. The workshop fostered creativity, confidence, and collaboration.

This event marks the beginning of a series of literacy-focused workshops and activities taking place in libraries across the Ballyhoura region.

The initiative is supported by Solas through the Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) Collaboration and Innovation Fund and brings together a wide range of partners, including Cork ETB, Limerick & Clare ETB, Fighting Words, MABS, and both Cork and Limerick Library Services.

Stay tuned for more exciting events as we continue to bring the joy of reading and writing to life in our communities!
