World Book Day Celebration 2026

Ballyhoura Development, in collaboration with Charleville Library and the Social Safety Approach Project, is pleased to present a special World Book Day Celebration for children and families.

To mark the occasion, we are hosting two engaging storytelling events on the 5th March featuring The Tallest Smallest Theatre, bringing beloved characters and imaginative tales to life for young audiences.

Both events are free to attend.

Event 1: Come Meet The BFG

Location: Charleville Library, P56 VA09 - FULLY BOOKED!
Time: 3:10 pm

A 40-minute live storytelling performance is being organised where children and families will have the opportunity to meet the Big Friendly Giant, brought to life by The Tallest Smallest Theatre.

This interactive session will celebrate the magic of books while encouraging imagination and a love of reading.

Event 2: Storytelling at Hillview Drive Community House

Location: Hillview Drive Community Building, P56 HW56
Time: 5:00 pm

A second 40-minute storytelling session is also being organised later that evening at Hillview Drive Community House. This event will offer an engaging and enjoyable experience for young readers and families looking to celebrate World Book Day together.
