On November 27, 2024, Ballyhoura Development hosted a  CITICESS Stakeholder Information and Engagement Event in Croom, Co. Limerick. The event brought together agencies and service providers from across the Ballyhoura region, including representatives from:

  • Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board
  • Family Resource Centres
  • Youth Services

  • Respond

At the event, stakeholders reviewed the progress of the CITICESS project to date, with a particular focus on the recent study visit to Heerlen in the Netherlands. This visit highlighted two key initiatives:

  1. Breakthrough Method – This method provides tailored solutions for families in Heerlen, helping them overcome a range of challenges.

  2. Social Safety Approach – This approach supports frontline professionals working in disadvantaged communities by collaborating with residents to enhance community safety.

Participants also reviewed best practices shared by CITICESS partners and engaged in consultations on the potential to develop a pilot action for the Ballyhoura region.

The event featured extensive group work and networking opportunities, culminating in a networking lunch at the Aubergine restaurant.
