Thrive Together! Thrive Together! Workshop Series: Developing Food-Focused Projects in Your Community Ballyhoura Development, in collaboration with FoodCloud Academy, are inviting all communities in Ballyhoura region to the Thrive Together! workshop series. This initiative aims to support communities to tackle food waste and setup zero-waste projects through innovative food-sharing projects. The conversation about food waste is ongoing topic and this initiative is designed to support communities in addressing this issue by sharing excess food locally. Potential projects could include setting up a community pantry, organising meal-sharing activities, community food distribution, or community food barter initiatives. Whether you’re part of a community group, an individual passionate about making a difference, or a community-based organisation, these workshops are designed to help you develop and implement sustainable food-focused projects in your local area. Through these workshops, we aim to: inspire action by exploring successful community food-sharing projects educate on food redistribution and waste prevention support the development of community-led ideas through collaborative sessions. What to Expect? 1. A 1-Hour Online Introductory Workshop Date & Time: October 8th, 2024 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM This session will introduce you to the concept of food-sharing projects and outline the upcoming workshop series. 2. Food Redistribution and Waste Prevention Learning Visit Date: October 23rd, 2024 Location: FoodCloud Hub, Tallaght The visit includes a presentation, a Q&A session, a tour of the hub, and a lunch from a FoodCloud kitchen that utilises surplus food. 3. Collaborative Ideas Generation Workshop Date: November 7th, 2024 Location: Millennium Centre, Caherconlish, Co. Limerick A half-day workshop focused on brainstorming and developing community-led project ideas. Additional Information Post-Workshop Support: Ballyhoura Development will continue to support your community in bringing your ideas to fruition with support from FoodCloud. Travel Expenses: Travel expenses for the site visit to and from Dublin on October 23rd will be covered from a central point in the Ballyhoura area.
