Ballyhoura Development is introducing upcoming Summer/Autumn Community Training courses. If you're involved with a community organisation, these courses are designed to help enhance key skills that will benefit your committee members, volunteers, and your broader community.

The courses we’ll be offering include:

Committee Skills & Governance for Local Community Groups

(2 sessions x 2.5 hours + additional hour of one-to-one mentoring)

This course is suitable for both new and established groups, focusing on organisational structures and committee skills.  Learn about governance, management, and operations, as well as practical skills like setting agendas, facilitating meetings, and creating action plans.

Session 2 - In Person

  • Date: June 24th, 2025
  • Time: 7 PM – 9:30 PM

Mentoring with groups attending will be done online via Zoom at arranged times after both training sessions have been completed.

Pricing Places and Community Spaces

(2 x 2-hour Sessions + 1-hour Individual Group Mentoring)

This training is designed to help community groups gain an understanding of pricing strategies for their spaces and services. Understand the key elements of pricing community spaces, including cost identification, market needs, profit margins, and competitor analysis. This course also covers the development of trading terms and customer segmentation to help your organisation remain financially sustainable while serving the community. 

Fundraising Skills for Community Groups

(2 x 2.5-hour Sessions)

This course will help you learn how to run effective fundraising campaigns for your community organisation. Learn various fundraising strategies, both traditional and online. This course covers how to tell your organisation’s story to secure donations, as well as practical advice on planning and running fundraising events.
