Get Your Garden Autumn Ready! Join us for an immersive and informative workshop on preparing your vegetable patch for Autumn and Winter, and utilising your harvest throughout the seasons. These free interactive sessions will provide valuable tips and tricks on maintaining an edible landscape year-round. The workshop will commence with an introduction to the allotments, followed by expert talk and advice. To support budding growers, participants will have hands-on experience in planting and caring for fruit and vegetables. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, including demonstrations and a guided tour of the allotments. Workshop Topics: Active planting of fruit and vegetables Weed and pest management strategies Incorporating pollinator-friendly plants Seasonal planning tips Propagation techniques for plants Essential tools and equipment Soil health: benefits of composting and fertilising A tour around the community allotments will also be facilitated by allotment members, looking at how they plant and grow with the seasons, and they will discuss the benefits of growing a variety of species in each plot.This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to cultivate an edible garden effectively, promoting biodiversity and sustainable gardening practices.
