East Limerick Traveller Pride 2025 Empowering the Future: The Next Generation of Irish Travellers. As part of the national Traveller Pride celebrations, the Traveller Community in East Limerick will once again come together to honour its resilience, culture, and contributions. This year, Ballyhoura Development will be screening a documentary film alongside an animation. These creative pieces highlight the individuals and groups involved in a wide range of inspiring projects throughout the Traveller Community in East Limerick. Film Premier: "Life off the Blue Tar Road"Premiere of a documentary film featuring the Travellers of East Limerick as they shape and strengthen their own futures. Youth Showcase: "Inner Dialogue”Premiere of animation voiced by young people in Kilmallock, followed by a Q&A. During the event, attendees will be introduced to the social inclusion work by the East Limerick Traveller Community, including: The Primary Healthcare Project The KTG Women’s Group Building Bridges Community Drama Youth Project Communicating Europe Project Research The film also includes footage from last year’s Traveller Pride celebrations, as well as interviews with a diverse range of community members. At its heart, this project aims to capture the strength of the Traveller Community in East Limerick and to shine a light on the powerful work being done locally. It also seeks to inspire younger generations to continue building a future rooted in inclusion, pride, and solidarity.
