Container Planting for Edible Plants Ballyhoura Development is offering 12 community groups the opportunity to learn more about how to use edible plants to compliment traditional planting, to enhance the aesthetics of community spaces, to enhance biodiversity, and by doing so, to dedicate a small community space which could provide fresh, locally produced food. Two representatives from each participating community group will be invited to attend the workshop.During the workshop, participants will: Plant a container full of edible plants, flowers and biodiversity-friendly bulbs, under the guidance of a horticulturist. They will learn about how best to incorporate edible elements into their broader planting schemes Gain insights into the concept and practice of edible gardening and how to care for the plants in each container. Each workshop will accommodate 6 groups, ensuring a personalised learning experience. After the workshop, the Ballyhoura Development Community Small Project Services team will deliver the planted container to a public area chosen by the community.Ballyhoura Development is particularly interested in working with groups who would like to further explore the potential for incorporating edible planting into their planting schemes, perhaps to set up small community-based 'herb' pantries, or other local food projects, with support provided by Ballyhoura Development over the coming year.To express your interest, please fill out the below form: Express Your Interest For more information, contact Rhiannon Laubach on 087-1940608 / [email protected].
