Digital Skills, Search Visibility & Sales Confidence for Tourism Providers

Part of the Ballyhoura Country & Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark Shared Island Phase II Project 

As part of the Shared Island initiative, Ballyhoura Development and Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark are collaborating to strengthen regenerative tourism businesses across both regions through practical, targeted training.

This targeted training series is designed to fill key digital and sales skills gaps within our tourism networks and support businesses to grow visibility, confidence and competitiveness.


Training Details

This three-part online series provides accessible, practical learning for tourism providers at all stages of their digital journey. Each session focuses on a core aspect of running and promoting a tourism enterprise in today’s evolving online landscape. 

1️⃣ Business Digital Basics

Date: Monday, 2nd March | 11am - 1 PM | Online

This session covers the essential digital tools every tourism business should have in place.

Participants will learn:

  • The fundamentals of managing an effective online presence
  • Website usability and clarity essentials
  • Social media basics for small tourism businesses
  • How to optimise and maximise your Google Business Profile

2️⃣ Visibility in Google & AI Searches

Date: Monday, 9th March | 11am - 1 PM | Online

This session focuses on how Google and AI tools interpret online content - and how tourism providers can improve their visibility both individually and collectively as destination partners.

Participants will learn:

  • How Google and AI search behaviour works
  • Using keywords and content structure to improve rankings
  • Strengthening online listings and interlinking benefits
  • Leveraging the power of a destination brand

3️⃣ Confident Sales & Destination Storytelling

Date: Monday, 16th March | 11am - 1 PM | Online

This session is designed to build confidence in selling your tourism product or experience.

Participants will learn:

  • Simple, effective sales messaging approaches
  • Identifying and clearly expressing unique selling points
  • Integrating destination storytelling into sales conversations
  • Positioning your business within the wider Ballyhoura–Cuilcagh visitor experience

Expression of Interest: One-to-One Mentor Clinics

As part of the Connecting Tourism Communities collaboration between Cuilcagh Lakelands and Ballyhoura Country (Shared Island Phase II), we are also offering one-to-one mentor clinics to network members following the training series.

These mentoring sessions are designed to provide tailored support on specific digital or sales challenges you may be facing. Whether you would like a review of your website, guidance on social media, advice on improving visibility in search, support with content, or help refining your sales approach, our expert trainers are available to work with you individually.

Clinics can be arranged either online or in person (subject to availability).
