Running from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, this free event promises exciting activities, interactive exhibits, and something for all ages to enjoy. From its humble beginnings 7 years ago, the Ballyhoura Science Fair has grown into an annual event in the family calendar. It now offers a day packed with fun, learning, and hands-on experiences for the whole family. Whether you're curious about science or just looking for a great family day out, the Ballyhoura Science Fair has it all!! From live animal encounters to messy science experiments, there’s guaranteed fun and learning for everyone! Event Highlights For the Kids: Live Snakes & Reptiles: Meet fascinating creatures from the Animal Roadshow and discover the amazing animals we share our planet with. Farm Safety Workshops: Led by Agri Kids, these workshops use virtual reality and tablet games to teach farm safety. Don’t miss the chance to take a picture at the safety selfie station! Messy Science Experiments: Watch out for The Professor, Konor Halpin, who will be conducting messy science experiments that are sure to amaze (and make a mess)! 360º Dome Cinema: Experience incredible visuals and surround sound in the immersive 360º Dome Cinema—a must-see for all the family. Bricks4Kidz: Test your engineering skills and build with Lego. Crafts Corner: Get creative with hands-on craft activities designed for all ages. For the Adults: Sustainable Energy Communities: Learn practical tips and quick fixes on how to stop energy from escaping your home and reduce energy consumption. Community Food Initiative: Explore the science of food with healthy snack demos, school lunch ideas, and slow cooker meal tips. Sample tasty treats while learning about nutritious eating. Demonstration times: 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm, 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm. Special Features: ASD Friendly Hour (10:30 am - 11:30 am): A calmer and more sensory-friendly experience for children with autism and their families.
