From Monday 22nd to Wednesday 24th September, the Ballyhoura team visited Heerlen, Netherlands as part of the CITICESS project.

The study visit offered a unique opportunity to collaborate with Heerlen’s family coaches, behavioural scientists, and local stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to family support and community wellbeing. 

Key Highlights

Throughout the visit, participants took part in observation sessions, which included home visits with family coaches. These experiences offered a clear and inspiring insight into the impactful work these professionals carry out daily, as well as highlighting the challenges they face. Such observations provided a deeper understanding of the significance of trust and communication when working with diverse stakeholders.

The study visit also explored the application of the Breakthrough Method. Reflection sessions revealed the power of adaptability and continuous learning in driving meaningful change. Participants were encouraged to integrate new tools and techniques to create effective family plans, improving support strategies for families facing unique circumstances.

Preparation for Ballyhoura Visit

As part of the Citizens Pilot Action framework, preparations for the upcoming Ballyhoura visit underscored the significance of international collaboration and knowledge exchange. This study visit demonstrated that such partnerships can drive innovation and shared learning at the intersection of social and behavioural sciences.
