Wreath Making Workshop with Ahern Nurseries and Plant Centre In the lead-up to Christmas, a group of women from the local community came together for a morning of creativity, connection and festive spirit at a wreath decorating workshop in Ahern Nurseries and Plant Centre. Delivered as part of the ongoing work of the East Limerick Traveller Programme, the workshop highlighted the value of creative, community-based activities in supporting inclusion and wellbeing. From Craft to Creation The workshop, held on Monday, December 1st, followed on from an earlier session in October, where members of the Kilmallock Women’s Traveller Group crafted their own willow wreath bases. Building on this, participants returned to decorate their handmade wreaths under the expert guidance of Orla and Zoe from Ahern Nurseries and Plant Centre. With a wide selection of greenery and festive decorations available, each participant created a unique and personalised wreath to take home. A Space for Connection and Creativity The morning offered more than just a creative activity. It provided a relaxed and welcoming space for participants to: Connect with others in the community Share skills and ideas Build confidence through creative expression Mark the beginning of the festive season together The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, with plenty of conversation, laughter and pride in the finished pieces.
