About the Workshop

This interactive session will introduce participants to the core principles of trauma-informed practice and how these can be applied in real-world community and service settings.

The workshop will explore:

  • How people respond to stress, pressure and trauma
  • The impact of environment and interaction on behaviour
  • Practical approaches to supporting individuals in a safe, respectful and effective way
  • Simple strategies that can be used in everyday frontline roles

Participants will also have the opportunity to reflect on their own work contexts and consider how trauma-informed approaches can strengthen both outcomes for service users and staff wellbeing.

This session will be delivered by Quality Matters, a leading not-for-profit organisation specialising in trauma-informed practice across health, justice, housing and community settings.

Through their Trauma-Informed Practice Ireland initiative, they have worked with over 12,000 professionals nationally, supporting organisations to build safer, more inclusive and responsive services.

Their approach combines practical insight, real-world experience and interactive learning, making this a valuable opportunity for staff working in fast-paced, people-facing roles.
