SafeTALK - Suicide Alertness Training safeTALK is a half-day suicide alertness workshop that prepares participants, regardless of prior experience or training, to become suicide-alert helpers. Most people who experience thoughts of suicide do not truly want to die; rather, they are struggling with deep pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they often invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers learn how to recognise these invitations and take action by connecting people at risk with life-saving intervention resources. These helpers are a vital part of suicide-safer communities, working alongside professional supports to identify and reduce suicide risk. What happens at the SafeTALK workshop? Participants can expect a supportive and engaging learning environment where they will: Feel challenged, empowered, and hopeful Watch short video clips illustrating both non-alert and alert responses Take part in discussion and ask questions Practise the TALK steps through guided exercises Learn clear, practical actions to take if someone is at risk of suicide This training is suitable for anyone aged 18 and over who wants to help prevent suicide and is willing to become a suicide-alert helper Training Details Date: 26th May, 2026 Time: 9:30am – 1:00pm Location: Shanballymore Community Centre, Shanballymore Upper, Mallow, Co.
